The actor is set to tackle a dark fantasy tale, which he also penned.

While Ryan Gosling has more than proven his skills in front of the camera, the actor is set to step behind the lens with news in that he will make his directorial debut with How To Catch A Monster, which is set to star his Drive co-star Christina Hendricks in the lead role.
Also penned by Gosling, the film will see Hendricks play Billy, a single mother of two swept into a dark fantasy underworld while her teenage son discovers a secret road leading to an underwater town. The pair is forced to delve deep into the mystery if their family is to survive.
Described as weaving elements of fantasy noir and suspense into a modern day fairytale, it seems appropriate that Drive producers, Marc Platt and Adam Siegel, are also on board.
Of the collaboration, Platt said: “We are thrilled to be producing Ryan Gosling’s debut as a writer and director and continue our collaboration which began on Drive. He has composed a beautifully haunting script and has a very clear vision of how he will bring it to life. His ability to draw audiences into his world as an actor will serve him well as a filmmaker.”
Shooting is set to commence in 2013.
